Description

Tenneco is offering an exceptional opportunity for five graduates to join its Career Catalyst Programme (CAT Programme) in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. This 24-month fixed-term contract is designed to develop future leaders in the automotive industry through a structured journey that blends technical exposure, soft skills development, and project-based learning. In Year 1, participants will build a strong foundation in business and operations, while Year 2 focuses on applied engineering with specialization in areas such as Continuous Improvement, Production Engineering, Quality, or Maintenance. The programme integrates mentorship, coaching, and real-world project delivery, all guided by The Tenneco Way values: Radical Candor, Tenacious Execution, Simplify, Velocity, and Win.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in technical and operational training during the first year of the programme
  • Engage in project-based learning and specialize in a chosen engineering stream during the second year
  • Apply Lean tools, Kaizen principles, and problem-solving techniques to real-world challenges
  • Collaborate with mentors and coaches to enhance career readiness and professional development
  • Demonstrate alignment with The Tenneco Way values in all aspects of the programme

Qualifications

  • NQF Level 6 qualification in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Academic average of 70% or above is advantageous
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Knowledge of Lean tools, problem-solving, and Kaizen principles
